Huntington Central Park Concert Stage behind Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. Huntington Beach

COPYRIGHT D.STOCK
Huntington Central Park's band shell stage built several years ago for special concerts and events greets picnickers and music lovers each summer with shaded lawns and old-fashioned fun. It has served as a foundation for the BB Jazz Smooth Jazz Concert Festival on which a larger stage is built to hoste Al Jarreau, Brian Bromberg, Warren Hill, Mindy Abair,  Pieces of a Dream and radio personalities from KTWV. Other (free) concerts in Huntington Beach are held at Pier Plaza and Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum.

Also used to officiate Concours d'Elegance annual classic car show, the band shell is located at the base of the hill behind Central Library. Huntington Beach Concert Band plays a summer concert series most Sundays July through August. Popular and show tunes plus some jazz concerts have included these groups: Huntington Beach Jazz Band & the Orange County Klezmers, Enerjazz, MAMBORAMA Cuban Mambo at its best! One of the best Latin Jazz groups in Southern California, Los Angeles Police Jazz Band, Symphonic Band of Orange, Moonlight Express, Huntington Beach Concert Band & The Symphonic Band of Orange and Tom Kubis Big Band.

When you hear concerts in Central Park, you will usually find them played at the band shell which features tall, green poles and festive, colorful flags.

Huntington Central Park consists of 350 acres of lush trees, fields, foliage and six miles of trails. Park entrances can be found on Edwards, Golden West, Gothard, Slater, and Talbert Streets.

The Concert Venue is located behind the Central Park Library. Park your car in the Library Lot and walk along the cement path down the hill on the back side of the library.  Concerts begin at 5:00 PM and are FREE to the public.

People sit on partial and full shaded hills or in the sun on grassy lawns which slope down toward the venue for easy viewing. Picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged as part of the fun in this event where children are welcome and can roam, under the watchful eye of their parents and guardians.
