There are hundreds of things to do in Huntington
Beach, California. But let's start with just a few.This oceanfront city of nearly
200,000 people enjoys numerous water sports. By the
numbers, the favorite ocean activity is
surfing.
Other water sports include swimming, body boarding,
kite surfing, sailing, kayaking,
fishing and hunting
for seashells on the shoreline. RV camping is
available at Huntington Beach, as well.
Cultural activities include
concerts, live music and dancing nightly in clubs,
pubs and bars, plays, an art museum, an historic
house museum, a library with a genealogy department,
poetry readings, book discussions with guest author
lectures and book signings and sculptures and murals
throughout the City of Huntington Beach that depict
various aspects of the unique beach community.
Finally, if your favorite
activities include shopping and dining, there are
three major shopping areas that include Huntington
Beach Mall, 5 Points Plaza and Downtown Main Street.
Many smaller shopping regions include unique stores.
For dining, there are hundreds of restaurants with
all types of food. Many offer al fresco outdoor
table dining and on some, you can bring your pets to
sit outside with you. If pets are your activity,
then you can take canine friends to HB Dog Park, HB
Dog Beach and Doggie Diners such Park Bench Cafe.

1. Central
Library on Golden West & Talbert from famed
architect Dion Neutra offers gift shop, scenic park
views and soothing fountains. There is also a children's wing, media center
with internet access plus more. An annual fund
raising event for the Children's Wing is held every
June on the Library grounds and is called "Concours
d'Elegance". 2. Ride a
bicycle. There are nearly 10 miles of
coastal trails
and several locations to rent bicycles near the
pier. 3.
Rent a kayak.
Paddle Huntington Harbour
and Alamitos Bay. Tour takes you past residences,
shopping, dining and beaches. In Alamitos Bay, you
can paddle to gentle, beginner waves and watch the
gondolas and sabots sail past you. Rentals for that
bay are located in Long Beach on East Ocean Avenue,
at the Sailing Center. 4. Huntington Beach
Central Park
Equestrian Center features guided
tours on horseback along paths overlooking the
Pacific Ocean. Offered mostly by appointment.

Bonfires
at fire rings on Huntington and Bolsa Chica State Beach,
Huntington State Beach and Huntington City Beach are
free, first come first serve. 6.
Skateboarding
at Murdy or Huntington Beach High Parks.
Admission is free. 7.
Boat tours
available locally. City of Huntington Beach. Public
Dock, 3821 Warner Ave. allows you to launch a boat
free 7 AM-10 PM daily. 8. Golf
at Meadowlark Public Course, 16782 Graham. Open every day,
golf for as low as $25 on this par 70, 5750-yard course or
fire off balls at the driving range. 714- 846-4450 9. Try
the fitness circuit
in Central Park near the library. This Par Course training
circuit includes stations with instructions for
various activities such as chin ups, sit ups and
aerobic exercises. 10. Skate - For out door skating
and roller blading at the beach, the 8.5 mile path
provides solid skate on cement with the ocean on one
side of you nearly always in view. Skate
