This one-of-a-kind “Soul Bowl” is a wooden vert bowl that’s
perfect for both skate and BMX riders, challenging them to
utilize the corners and hips of the bowl instead of simply
going back and fourth like one might on a traditional
half-pipe (vert ramp).
The 2005 Bank of the West Soul Bowl will feature today’s top
action sports super stars in skateboarding and freestyle BMX.
The format for skate will encompass a team format
competition, with the top 4 finishers of 2004 Young Guns
skateboarding competition choosing 1 Young Gun, 2 Grand
Masters, 2 Masters and 2 Women skaters to compete in various
disciplines for team points.
The BMX format will feature top pros such as Mat Hoffman,
Kevin Robinson and Simon Tabron all competing with freestyle
moves to take home the top prize.
Events also include Arrowhead’s “It’s Better Up Here”
contest, which features a high air contest for bike and best
trick contest for skate with a cash prize of $1,000 each.
