Games in Huntington Beach California!
There's an annual event that combines surfing,
skateboarding, bmx bike tricks, free concerts, tents filled
with games, give-aways and entertainment. The US Open of
Surfing and Beach Games lasts for around 9 days and is
usually held the last week in July and first week in August
when the weather is in its prime.
Bring a towel, a beach chair, or just bring yourself and
plop down on the sand to enjoy watching the surfing and
other events going on. Stadium seating first come, first
serve is available.
In past years the normal routine has been for the stands to
fill when a skate contest is going on, then people head out
(down the stairs) and the security folks who control crowd
size and keep traffic flowing allow more people in to sit
down in the stands to watch surfing 9n one set of stands;
skateboarding in a set of stands with a big bowl; bmx bike
tricks in the same bowl / stands; and special shows such as
an fmx aerial demo with motorcycles in an open-faced stand.
