May 2003 - Harriett Wieder Linear Park - The county began construction of the 4.7 acre node the first of May and will be completed by the end of this calendar year. This is the "neighborhood park" node within the linear park that will meet the city's requirements for parkland dedication for The Estates project across from Seapoint north of Palm and Garfield.

Notes from the old-timers: We used to drive by that piece of land and wonder if it would ever become a park facility. Finally, they began construction and when it was done, it became a jewel in the Huntington Beach Parks system. Sitting high atop a hill overlooking the Landings and Landmarks homes, the Dutch Havens and Cal Classics, on a clear day you can see San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountains.
