HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
is a fabulous place to take pier pictures

Huntington Beach Pier is one of the most photographed landmarks in Huntington Beach. For years, the pier has been recognized as the icon for local residents and visitors who hold fond memories of a stroll hand in hand with a loved one, catching the first fish or buying a kite.

The Huntington Beach Pier has been knocked down by intense ocean storms and rebuilt numerous times, each time with enhanced engineering and upgraded products. The latest Pier was built through fundraising donations of local citizens and groups that felt having a pier in Huntington Beach is necessary as part of its roots.

Photographing the Huntington Beach Pier can provide challenges, yet can yield some of the most interesting photographic images you'll capture in Huntington Beach.  The sun rises on the south side of the pier and provides a great photo location during the morning hours. As the sun approaches Noon, the lighting becomes difficult from the base of the pier and you may find yourself looking at sun glare.  Afternoon creates sun-lit opportunities on the north side of the pier and when the sun goes down, you can walk around and shoot photos from all sorts of angles.  Below are some examples of angles and lighting to hopefully inspire you to take your camera and get busy photographing the Huntington Beach Pier.

This pier has been the landmark and centerpiece of Huntington Beach for over 100 years since it was first built in 1904.
