Huntington Beach - On the walls of the
historic building in downtown Huntington Beach
located just steps from the beach and pier are
photos of famous acts that once appeared at
nearby Golden Bear.
Though gone for
for over 20 years, the Golden Bear is fondly
remembered on the walls of
Perqs
Nite Club in Huntington Beach. In the good
old days, you could sit and watch BB King play
the blues for a few bucks down at the Golden
Bear.
Perqs commemorates
the Golden Bear by posting some of the
playbills, promotional photos and even tickets
from acts such as Linda Rondstadt, Kenny Rankin,
Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Hoyt Axton, John
Mayall and Bachman Turner Overdrive.
Perqs is survivor
of the early days and has fought for its proud
heritage. Throughout the years it has gained
many distinctions, always serving as a bar, but
also hosting a variety of people. Walter Trout,
one of the world's top blues artists, calls
Perqs "home" when he's visiting Huntington
Beach. If Walter is in town, there's usually a
concert going down at Perqs.
