Beach Halloween on Main Street if for the
kids primarily. Parents are responsible for
									dressing their little "angels" and
"monsters" for the big event, but the
enjoyment is on the faces of the youth. Each
year on October 31 the downtown Huntington
Beach Main Street closes to traffic around 2
p.m. when the vendor come in and begin
inflating the kiddie bounce houses, setting
up the pin with farm animals and the pony
									rides. October 31Downtown
									Huntington Beach Trick or Treat
 Main Street
									from Orange
									Ave. to Pacific Coast Hwy
 Time: 5 to 9 p.m.
 Cost: Free
 The free
event is such a huge draw for the local HB
youth and parents that some neighborhoods
have reported lighter attendance on Trick or
Treat night. The action includes a pumpkin
carving contest--you usually must fill out a
form and enter your piece of pumpkin art at
Longboard Pub & Grill on the 2nd block of
Main. A costume contest for the kiddies
takes place with prized provide by local
merchants, and the City of Huntington Beach
brings out its tent with coloring activities
									for children. Merchants in
Downtown Huntington Beach primarily on Main
Street report giving out thousands of pounds
of candy on Halloween night. The event began
as the brainchild of the Rocky Mountain
Chocolate "candy man," Steve Daniel. He owns
the candy store on the 2ndn block of Main
(200 Main Street) where the city parking lot
is located. Each year he has held such a
firm conviction that this event needed to
continue that he's been known to bankroll
the event himself (hat's off to the man, if
this is true!) Now the event
is produced under the umbrella of the
									Huntington Beach Downtown Business
									Improvement District (HBDBID) that also
produces the weekly Surf City Nights. The
event is held usually from around 5 p.m. to
9 p.m. The streets are packed after just an
hour or two and the families often have to
get in line to receive candy from merchants
									at their shops. But there's
never any shortage of fun at this
									time-honored Huntington Beach Halloween
tradition that brings out the ghosts and
goblins Celebrating the 17th Annual Trick or
