Dear BID
Stakeholders:
As some of
you may know, there was an ADHOC committee formulated earlier this year that
broke out into several task forces that addressed the many facets of downtown.
These task forces discussed, cleanliness, public safety, business variety and
implementation cultural activities.
In the final
analysis in the area of the cultural activities, many residents and business
owners participated and one of things that came from suggestions was to have an
Art Walk in the downtown area. The BID board has formed an Art Walk Committee
consisting of BID members and residents. The Art Walk Committee has been meeting
since August and has created concept that is now being put into action. If you prefer to leave me a note at my salon or call, my contact information is:
Makin Waves Salon, 320 Main Street, and (714) 801-6488. You can host an artist
one month or all year. If you would like to suggest an artist who may want to
participate, the artist can e-mail Luanne Nichols Shoup at shoupsters@juno.com.
The Art Walk will NOT be a street closure event.
The
committee has created a “walking map for guests.” If you would like to volunteer
in anyway participation is welcomed. You will be receiving more information
about the Art Walk in the monthly newsletter. Wiht the success of Surf City
Nights, I look forward to having another image enhancing event for all of the
BID members and residents to enjoy.
Sincerely,
Susie Smith,
