Santa Claus rides a lifeguard truck on the pier. At least
that's how it goes in Surf City, the town where things are
done in a beach stylishly. Waving his arms in the air to
children and parents taking afternoon strolls, Santa throws
candy canes to the good girls and boys and their parents, as
well. Huntington Beach Pier stretches approximately 1/3 of a
mile into the Pacific Ocean and features a state of the art
Lifeguard Tower Zero seen in photo above. Perched high above
the water, trained professionals can view the surrounding
beaches with binoculars and study the waves and currents to
make sure that everyone is safe. With jolly old Saint Nick
nearby, the children gain an especially warm feeling in
Huntington Beach, where winters are quite pleasant.
