Conrad Park is
the greenbelt where neighbors meet on Huntington Harbour's
Trinidad Island, one of five manmade islands
in Huntington Beach's harbor and marina
area. There are park benches to sit and
relax at this place beloved by pets. Perfect
for the favorite morning or afternoon
stroll, Conrad Park is framed by a
centerpiece sign welcoming guests to
Trinidad Island with its blue and white logo
design carved in wood. The words, "Trinidad
Island" are engraved on a plaque that hangs
below the logo, comprised of a sailboat
surrounded by blue water and sky.
Conrad Park is
one of three parks or greenbelt areas on
Trinidad Island, a residential community of
houses and townhomes, many with boat docks
and water views. The other parks on the
island are Prince
Park and
French Park.
Huntington Beach
Parks
The City of
Huntington Beach (California) is the caretaker
and steward of the Huntington Beach public park
system. Two departments involved with Huntington
Beach parks are the Community Services
Department and Park Maintenance. Park Maintenance is
responsible for maintaining approximately 67
parks and public facilities, totaling 598 acres,
169 playground apparatus and irrigation
systems.
Park
Maintenance is also an
integral component in
special events in the City,
closely working with
Community Services to set up
for events and activities
that take place on or near
park facilities.
Community Services not only
handles the rental of the
park facilities but also
operates programs for the
public that include softball
leagues, exercise classes,
cooking, dancing and other
types of interesting and fun
things to do.
