Cold Stone Creamery was an instant success when it opened several years ago in the Plaza Almeria in downtown Huntington Beach.  As one of a handful of the popular ice cream and frozen dessert shops on or near Main Street, the specialty of this place is the mix.  You get to pick an ice cream you like and choose one free add in or more for an additional price. Brownies, candies, fruit and  nuts stretched along the view case in containers allow you to visualize your private creation. Attendants take your base ice cream to the frozen granite stone and mix in your ingredients of choice. A freshly made waffle cone or bowl holds your ice cream creation.

Flavors available in Cold Stone Creamery (subject to change) include Banana Italian Sorbet, Cake Batter with Mint, Cheesecake, Chocolate Strawberry, Coffee Sweet Cream, French Vanilla Sweet Cream Yogurt and White Chocolate. Seasonal flavors served may also include Amaretto Mocha, Black Cherry, Orange, Butter Pecan, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Yogurt Pecan Praline, Cinnamon, Peppermint, Coconut, Pistachio, Coffee Yogurt, Pumpkin Eggnog, Raspberry Sorbet, Lemon Sorbet and Vanilla Bean. Mix in ingredients you choose include Butterfinger, Chocolate Chips, Crunch Bar, Gummi Bears, Heath bar, Kit Kat, M&M’s, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Snickers, Sprinkles and White Chocolate Chips, nuts such as pecans, macadamias, walnuts and almost, fruits such as apple, banana, black cherry, blueberry, coconut, pineapple, raspberry and strawberry and baked items such as brownies, Oreo cookies, graham cracker crust and yellow cake.  Syrups and sauces caramel, cinnamon, fudge, honey, marshmallows, peanut butter, whipped topping and cookie dough can be added, too. 

Ice cream cakes: Chocolate Chipper includes Devil's Food Cake, sweet cream ice cream, chocolate shaving and fudge ganache; Coffee House Crunch includes Devil's Food Cake, coffee ice cream, Heath bar and fudge ganache; Cookie Dough Delirium includes yellow cake, sweet cream ice cream, cookie dough, chocolate shavings and white frosting; Cookies & Creamery includes Devil's Food Cake, sweet cream ice cream, Oreo cookies and white frosting; Midnight Delight include Devil's Food Cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate shavings, fudge and fudge ganache; Mmmmmint Chip includes Devils Food Cake, mint ice cream, chocolate shavings and white frosting; Peanut Butter Playground includes Devil's Food Cake, chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cups and fudge ganache; Snickers Supreme includes Devil's Food Cake, sweet cream ice cream, Snickers and fudge ganache; Strawberry Passion includes Red Velvet Cake, strawberry ice cream, graham cracker crust, strawberry puree and strawberry frosting.

Cold Stone Creamery stores are franchised. The company began in 1988 in Tempe, Arizona. In 1995, the first franchise store opened in Tucson, Arizona, followed by the first out-of-state store in Camarillo, California.
