Comment:  I have done literally thousands of the community involvement photo assignments.  From Runs, to Walks, to Clean Ups, the job is easy if the client is going for only one photo for news. But usually they prefer full coverage and often several locations of an event that employees might be participating in throughout an entire region.  You are required to do the group photos of the planners, the managers, the workers and then be sure to get in your action shots of the participation.   When children and the public are involved, the photo identifications become very time consuming and often slow down the process.

Photographers are supposed to get the names of everyone in the photos, plus ages of children, departments and job titles of employees and comments.  Most editors have worked as photographers and realize the constraints of the task. But apparently one of the freelancers for a client made a major mistake in misidentifying a corporate officer.  For a full year, all in house and freelance photographers received instruction on photo identifications.  I was told my idents were fine but my boss had to tell all of us to be careful and get it right.
