Newland Park is a runner's paradise. There's a paved path that stretches  the length of a park, scattered with picnic tables on green lawns.

Newland Park is located next to William T. Newland Elementary School (714) 378-4200 in the Fountain Valley School District. The park includes large playing fields and several play stations with swings, ladders and slides. Bounded by Adams, Magnolia, Garfield and Newland streets, Newland Park sits in a nice residential neighborhood not far from shopping and dining.

Named after early residents to Huntington Beach, an attraction worth visiting is Newland House on Beach and Adams in the Newland Shopping Center.  The park on the Newland House property is called Bartlett Park. Newland Park is approximately half a mile distance in the valley that William Newland once farmed.

Huntington Beach Parks

The City of Huntington Beach (California) is the caretaker and steward of the Huntington Beach public park system. Two departments involved with Huntington Beach parks are the Community Services Department and Park Maintenance. Park Maintenance is responsible for maintaining approximately 67 parks and public facilities, totaling 598 acres, 169 playground apparatus and irrigation systems. 

Park Maintenance is also an integral component in special events in the City, closely working with Community Services to set up for events and activities that take place on or near park facilities. Community Services not only handles the rental of the park facilities but also operates programs for the public that include softball leagues, exercise classes, cooking, dancing and other types of interesting and fun things to do.
