Newland Barn at Newland House Museum in Huntington Beach, California Photos and Rental Information. You can rent the Newland Barn or attend one of the city sponsored functions such as the Mother & Daughter Tea held at the Barn annually.

Newland Barn sits on a hill behind the Newland House Museum. While the museum is not available for rent, the barn is. The barn and grounds are fenced in with a beautiful iron gate that maintains the privacy of functions. There's a beautiful lattice-work gazebo and a garden next to the barn. The museum apparently does not allow for photos on the porch or actual Newland House Museum building itself.

A beautiful Rose Garden on the Museum grounds is perfect for weddings of approximately 200 people or less (contact the City Community Services Department for exact numbers.)  The combined space of Newland Barn and the lawns allows for guests to walk around in open space and go inside for food buffets and entertainment. Inside the barn, approximately 65 people can sit and dine or 90 can stand and circulate.

When planning a wedding or special event at Newland Barn, rental permits installment of temporary arbors and canopies on the lawn or patio. The facility includes one exterior power outlet below the kitchen window and one exterior floodlight at the north end of the patio for evening functions outdoors. While Huntington Beach experiences an average 14 inches of rain annually, the season with least amount of rain is June through September. Another element to outdoor event planning is the cool ocean breeze that begins around 2 p.m. and settles down generally around 8 p.m. This, like any weather condition is only a guideline as weather is unpredictable and should be considered on any outdoor event plans.

There's a paved parking lot with 60 spaces adjacent to the Newland Barn and additional parking in the Newland Center lot, connected to this venue a few yards away.

The Newland Barn is rented through the City of Huntington Beach Community Services department.

Huntington Beach Parks

The City of Huntington Beach (California) is the caretaker and steward of the Huntington Beach public park system. Two departments involved with Huntington Beach parks are the Community Services Department and Park Maintenance. Park Maintenance is responsible for maintaining approximately 70 parks and public facilities, totaling 598 acres, 169 playground apparatus and irrigation systems.

Park Maintenance is also an integral component in special events in the City, closely working with Community Services to set up for events and activities that take place on or near park facilities. Community Services not only handles the rental of the park facilities but also operates programs for the public that include softball leagues, exercise classes, cooking, dancing and other types of interesting and fun things to do. For more information on park maintenance call (714) 536-5480.  For information on park facilities or to make a reservation call Community Services at (714) 536-5486 or the phone numbers provided on the featured parks pages.
