1889 Huntington Beach Map from Wells Fargo Museum

The map pictured above is on display at the Wells Fargo Museum in downtown Los Angles. An arrow points to Rancho Las Bolsas, a portion of which is currently known as the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The map was compiled in 1889 as the Map of Orange County California.

Rancho Las Bolsas soon became the location of a men's hunting club, the Bolsa Gun Club for shooting wild game.  Ironically, that same location today serves as an ecological preserve for wild and endangered birds.
