Industry News:

Huntington Surf And Sport Opens HSS Girl

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 09 March 2005: Huntington Beach, Calif. - Huntington Surf and Sport (HSS), Orange County's premier surf, skate and fashion store, announces the grand opening of its newest addition, HSS Girl, on April 2 and 3, 2005. The store, located on 126 Main Street in Huntington Beach, features clothing, accessories and shoes from top surf/skate lifestyle brands like Roxy, Volcom, Paul Frank, Hurley and O'Neill.

The HSS Girl grand opening is open to the public. On the schedule is a Friday evening reception and weekend storewide sale. Saturday female surfers will sign autographs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the day will end with a wetsuit and surfboard raffle at 2 p.m.

'We want to support women's side of the sport,' said Aaron Pai, owner of HSS. 'HSS Girl shows our commitment.'

Erin Nichols, buyer of HSS Girl, said surf companies are taking notice of the fashion conscience girl. 'The companies are taking elements of high fashion and reinterpreting into their junior's lines. They are becoming more fashion savvy without alienating their core customer base.

'We opened the store on this demand from our customers. HSS Girl caters to the fashionable girl and provides the necessities for the surfing girl. We are one of the first surf shops to bring together the boutique and surf accessories. We've also accommodated for a bigger customer base ranging from two years old to our target market, 15 to 25 years old.'

Parking for the event is available in the downtown parking structures and the beach parking lots located across Pacific Coast Highway.

Huntington Surf and Sport is a community surf shop that gained popularity in the 1990's with its commitment to surf and the surfing culture. Today, HSS is an international company, servicing surfers, skaters and water enthusiasts in Huntington Beach to Osaka, Japan.
