Old World Village Oktoberfest Chicken Dance

The Chicken Dance is one of the most popular and most requested dances at Oktoberfest events in California. There are over 50 Oktoberfest celebrations throughout the state, but the Oktoberfest with the longest season usually is right in Huntington Beach at Old World Village.

The Chicken Dance song, itself, was first attributed to a Swiss musician, Werner Thomas who played a mean Handharmonika in the 1950s. The popularity of the song spread from Davos, Schweiz to a global audience. In the U.S., Chicken Dance is also the most requested song at Oktoberfest celebrations in other states, and popular at weddings.
