December is
a season to Remember in Huntington Beach -- this
last month of Huntington Beach's 2009 calendar winds
down the centennial (100) years celebration of the
city's existence with an annual favorite, the snow
flake lights on the Huntington Beach Pier. While
other cities light a tree in a city celebration,
Huntington Beach has lit its snowflakes that are
sponsored by individuals and corporations to raise
money for a worth cause, which is usually the city's
youth shelter for homeless and runaway kids.
Huntington
Beach is all about happy kids and is considered a
family destination because of the beach amenities an
many shops that surround the beach, selling
affordable souvenirs and contemporary youthful
clothing. There isn't just one or two clothing
stores for kids downtown. There are at least five to
10 of them to choose from.
December in
HB isn't one of the biggest tourist-draw months
(except for the corporate events), but it is one of
the most special. In addition to the lights on the
pier, guests can take a harbor lights cruise or
gondola ride in Huntington Harbour where the Cruise
of Lights annual event allows you to board a yacht
and take a ride around the waterways of the homes
that are decorated in themes for the holidays.
Thousand of twinkling lights reflect on the water,
and bring delight to all ages and religious faiths.
While Christmas celebrations abound, the city
respects all faiths and the Cruise of Lights
includes participants from around the globe.
