No Lake at Lake Park in Huntington Beach

HB, CALIF.– There are around 70 some parks in Huntington Beach, and one of the favorites is Lake Park, though there isn’t any lake. As you drive down the scenic Main Street toward or from the Huntington Beach City Beach and Huntington Beach Pier, you’ll pass by beautiful, towering palm trees and lush green lawns on both sides of the road. Lake Park is on one side of the road, and the other side contains what appears to be a continuation of the same park, though it has a different name (Farquhar Park). Huntington Beach is one of the few beaches without amenities such as playgrounds and swings on the beach, and for most families visiting on vacations, Lake Park provides their best bet to entertain the restless kids some six blocks from the beach.

Highlights to Lake Park include playground equipment, a clubhouse, huge picnic area with outdoor BBQ facilities, horseshoe pits, big lawns, and during the 4th of July, a mega-pancake breakfast to launch the day for those preparing to celebrate the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade.

There’s free parking at Lake Park and you’ll find the park at Main Street and Lake Street.
